Mikko Alutoin is an independent data scientist and founder of Kooditurva Oy, specializing in survival analysis, data modelling, and large-scale production analytics systems. He brings over a decade of hands-on experience building and leading predictive analytics capabilities in industrial settings.
Previously at KONE, he served as Principal Data Scientist and Chief Data Engineer, including five years as a line manager. He was a key contributor to the commercial 24/7 Connected Services concept and developed condition-based maintenance and predictive analytics systems using time series data and machine learning.
He holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University and an M.Eng. in Big Data Analytics from Arcada University of Applied Sciences. His thesis on predictive maintenance is publicly available at https://www.theseus.fi/handle/10024/333629.
